Talk it over

Bullitt

Ref: BC.217
Release date : 1 January, 2012
Format: Single, Digital

An alien watches with astonishment over a small planet full of winding roads that twist and turn connecting the city with the sea and mountains, fused with videogames, guitars and giant amplifiers. It’s the world of Bullitt, Xavi Calvet (vocal and guitar), Carlus paz (guitar and backup vocals), Ferran Bonet (bass and backup vocals) and Enric Pla’s (drums) refuge.

The colourful cover sleeve of the new single Talk It Over/Erased by the geronians Bullitt illustrates to perfection the intentions of this brief reference: to condense the quartets univers into just 7”. Recorded at the bands second home, Ultramarinos Costa Brava, the two songs that make up this short – but intense – reference by Bullitt follow the path of Squared Wheels and, most of all, the fabulous Love or Die. As we put the needle on Side A “Talk It Over” starts up with strength and speed to quickly slow down as it comes to the verse, melancholic and expansive. At the end, with celestial back up vocals included, the Sant Feliu de Guixols boys finish of the job with great dosage of muscle and epic.

We turn the plastic around and on side B we find “Erased”, a Sharp lash that’s born with a conceited rock ‘n’ roll riff and culminates into a sweaty and incendiary chorus, with tavern like back up vocals that pump up the song and invite you to lift your fists.

For its undeniable punch and melodic roundness, for its home brand sound, these two songs could have been part of there latest album. But they aren’t left overs. The truth is, “Talk It Over” and “Erased” are two new songs, a small taste to make our wait a bit more bearable as Bullitt are already getting their third album together with the well know brothers Victor and Santi García. They’ll be closed up in the recording studio by the end of March, but that’s, another story.
