Delicious is the word that defines the taste that Les Philippes give to any music they create. They are delicate, transparent, classy... values that they've been working on since their debut, three records ago. Les Philippes have always been, and will always be, an exquisite pop group, simply lofty, softly forged. "Odisea Ultramarina" is the story of four sailors who explain their point of view about a land that scares them and also about the oceanic world that fascinates them.

Talent at its purest. Never before one of our bands had played so many different keys in such a short space: country, pop, emo, hardcore, tex-mex, circus, doom... what a massacre for labels... Find someone able to administrate such an amount of musical information inside his brain, to dominate at its perfection what makes every single musical genre attractive. But, amongst all, there is the sensibility. Sometimes you have a treasure in your hands, and if the others can or want to see it's not up to who found it...

"#04" is vertebrated by curious and funny samplers, dressed with real and virtual instruments, with the extra flavour of their own voices, which have been used for the first time amongst samples. Music made by and for children, though played and arranged with the most mature and modern production techniques. And their fantastic yet naive sound makes them brilliantly original and genious. We can assure nobody else sounds like them.

Dadaist Punk in automaton execution. Complex and smart music but unintellectua. The beats lead to epyleptic dance and to muscular contraction. Guitars walk between dissonance and rythm. The vocals, almost onomatopeyical, give a blow of life and colour to the whole. Ramon Rodríguez's (Madee, Ghouls 'n Ghosts, Cydonia Records) new songs have been built with the valuable help of Ricky Lavado (drums) and Ricky Falkner (bass), both members of the renouned Standstill. All three make a unique background filled with all kind of details, instruments, textures and atmospheres, that hosts the element that has always shined in Ramon's career: his voice. And also his sense of humour, this time in genuine spanish words.

Youthful adrenaline, twisted in some moments and measured in others, that makes us think of Kerosene 454 or Bluetip. A little gift in the shape of an EP to remind us that they're back to the front, with more mature songs, more concrete, with a total control over dissonance, explicit lyrics and instrumental landscapes richer than ever, to let us still believe in youth as the main value of underground.

In their fifth album they have committed themselves to work on the gaps, the silence, the resonance of instruments, the braids made by their guitars and the rythmic narrative of the progressive. They've been able to defend, successfully and after years, their most honest and genuine way of expression. Without artifice and technological obsessions, Pupille has given shape to such an authentic and sincere discurse, winning the respect that they deserve.

HHH was one of the most popular and influential spanish bands ever, and in this CD we've put every single song ever recorded by them, the ones in their demos, singles, LPs and compilations, and it features a previous recording of "A por ellos..." never edited before. These outcasts, misfits, rageful and smart punks really kicked the system in a clever way. Probably the most outstanding hardcore band in the early eighties in Barcelona, along with Subterranean Kids and GRB, they did something never did before: using their mother tongue, catalan, in their lyrics. The first band ever in doing something as simple and as deep and authentic like playing an unusual musical genre half way from Washington DC and Chicago in their mother tongue: Catalan. Madee wanted to make a special record, and they have achieved it. Compilation that puts together most of the bands from Madrid that have lately reached our ears, all of them with a highly interesting musical discurse. From Ginferno to Garzón, or from Humbert Humbert to Doss, these bands breathe creativity and illusion, and these two qualities are fundamental for BCore, even though the bands come from Barcelona, Madrid or wherever. Also features three complete performances from three different moments in their history plus a documentary of "Orion's belt" recording sessions in at Engine Studios, Chicago, with Santi Garcia behind the recording desk. A nice interview for MTV completes this unique document about the first years of this band's career.

A true blow of fresh air by these three girls who came to remind us about the primary spirit of rock and roll: fun, simplicity, attitude. These songs will become little pop-punk hymns when you have just listened to them a couple of times. As in their lyrics ("...we are a pheromone explosion"), these shy girls ask for your help to party, to take them away and let go, and songs like "Hongos" or "Pomme de terre" are a real invitation.

Definitively, Delorean are hitting the dancefloor. A band who got tired of guitar thickness, to go deep in dance, house, trance... Tokyo Sex Destruction's last album is, without a doubt, the most diverse, creativelly complete and mature up to date. Songs like "L.U.V. is the feeling", "Good morning" or "Tonite" show us a side of the band never shown before, with psychedelic parts and smooth beats that will gently surprise both all-time fans and the ones that unwisely accused the band of repetition.

Time for joking is over. It's not not have just come back with a surprising new record to shut the mouth of whoever thought they were just a funny joke or a simple parallel amusement to its members' original bands. More seriousness and less kidding; more experimentation and less "hot-heading"; more mistery and less cheesyness. After their debut "Philantropic Philantropy" (BCore, 03), produced by Mark P. Wirtz (british producer, known by his work at Abbey Road Studios and for his band, Tomorrow, with Steve Howe), this "Les Philippes & The Empty Characters" shows the band in a moment of true inspiration, along with the challenge that means for an english-singing band dealing with their own native tongue. For lovers of pop at its purest; no additives, no bullshit.

Post-rock, as a genre, irrupted with strength some years ago, and, surprisingly for many, it didn't become a temporary fashion. Most of the bands which started playing some years ago are still active and playing music in a similar line. Because, as Pupille can prove, it's a question of pure music. When you don't have to build a song from the vocals there's a whole universe of infinite possibilities to explore, and that's what Pupille music is: freedom to explore and ability to transport you through their swamp of sound.

The big enemy of experimental and instrumental music is the risk of tediousness which can provoke speculation abuse and excessive duration. For this reason The Linn Youki Project has seduced us, beyond their exceptional songwriting and playing skills, for their extraordinary sense of synthesis. 14 tracks which are played in less than 30 minutes in which they show up their amazing resources and ability to find the essence, the minimal skeleton of rock music and dress it up with imaginative and surprising clothes.

After three long plays and two EPs sung in english, Standstill decided to use spanish in lyrics. And, without almost noticing, they created something absolutely new, never heard before in spanish rock history. "Standstill" is their most mature, complex and deep album, as all instruments, including vocals, dance together in a web of sounds that create a very peculiar and organic approach to modern rock, beyond punk, beyond post-rock, beyond pop. From the depths of Barcelona comes Nueva Vulcano: a rock band without grants, without tricks and without arrays. Formed by Artur (ex-Aina), Wences (ex-Shanty Rd.) and Albert (The Moon Men), they offer us a debut to sit and listen to carefully, to let oneself be shoved by its desperate and anxious atmosphere, where lyrics (in spanish) have a huge weight.

They came into BCore through the main door; one of the most important bands of spanish melodic hardcore, and the most veteran in active. We gave them a warm welcome and they corresponded recording a mighty album with all of their soul, and that has nothing to do with melodic hardcore. Rageful songs, sticky and full of lyrical contents, closer than ever to Shades Apart, Moving Targets or Farside but never forgetting the mighty Descendents.

After their demo, their great debut «Toaster» (Outline recs.) and their split with Amphetamine Eaters they saw how Gerard was quitting the band to Join Maple and the band stood in a dead point that luckyly they survived. And best thing is that, as we expected, they did it recording such a magnificent record like this. Songs like «Gear wheel» or «Drowning in you» (featuring Maple¹s singer Laura), will make your skin crawl. The band split up shortly after this.

Listening to them is like listening to The Byrds' impossible new album, like updating Bob Dylan's sensibility or like having a brand new modern "Pet Sounds". A big book of harmony and melody for the lovers of pure pop music, close to the warmth of Love and The Beach Boys vocal harmonies and always under the eternal Beatles influence. The guys from Pamplona have just become the most veteran band of our float in terms of discography. This is the fourth long-play of a band that hasn¹t stopped delighting us with their special sensibility since they were born as a band. And we must say this is the best record they¹ve put out to date, though their previous «New ad ideas» was a true little wonder. The Posies, Sugar, Superchunk and Hüsker dü would love to have a record like this in their discography.

Aina's last three songs ever: the rocking "International event", the intimist "Catalina" and two versions (normal and jingle) of the song "Cat & Dog", specially composed for a TV series soundtrack. This is the last material which the band delighted us with, showing a band controlling perfectly their sound and savoir faire. The final treasure of an impressing career. The band's singer Artur would follow his way at the front of Nueva Vulcano.

Explicit title: the session that Aina recorded at the BBC studios for John Peel's program. Two tracks from their last album, "Bipartite" and "Two questions", one from their previous album ("Aina", 99) ("Ice"), one from the sessions of "Sevens" (96) ("Spring") and a cover of the AC/DC classic "You shook me all night long".

If in "Songs from Cydonia" there was a swiss-precision jewelry work to make eleven precious and smooth songs, "Secret chamber" represents a turn into more abrupt, angular and rock sound. A monumental rock album, mature and intense, full of details and with a touch of complexity that proves the inmense class of these six musicians.

The extraordinary ability of re-invention showed by Zeidun becomes clearer than ever in this album, nothing to do with the fresh emo-pop that we would expect from them after "001" and "Oceane". This is far more complex, experimental and personal. Close to what we could call "indie-punk surrealism", "La Nausée" is a profound work, complex but still fresh and spontaneous. The talent of these five genious far out of doubt.

The masterpiece of the already disappeared Maple was, without a doubt, this album. Laura's vocals, passionate and sensual as never, played with the almost-minimalistic guitars by Edgar and Gerard (ex-Happy Meals) over the warm and imaginative rythm base by Christian's bass and Dani's drumming. Songs like caresses in your ears, from the simplicity of "Once I found you" to the euphoria of "On the bright side".

Since 2001, the video production by BCore bands was quickly increasing. Each day more young film makers decided to work with the bands to shoot videos, with a promotional function sometimes and an artistic intention in others. All of them were gathered in this DVD, reference number 100 of the label, along with curiosities and extras that make this issue a really interesting document.

Second release by the band, this time as an EP as a follower of their debut-album sound. With a political discurse every day more defined and their songs every day more solid, the band kept winning addicts wherever they would play live.

In the times of "Memories collector", Standstill searched for new sounds all the time, new instruments, new tools to experiment and perfect their own style.
